About Magnolia Park

Magnolia Park is on the Magnolia Bluff with a magnificent view of Puget Sound and many beautiful Madrona trees. It wraps around the above some tall cliffs around Elliott Bay and Puget Sound. As you can see, it’s a great place to picnic or watch the sunset. Watching the boats and ships throughout Elliott Bay and Puget sound can be great as well. We also like the fact that this park is a short walk from the Magnolia Village.

Magnolia Park also offers great views of Mount Rainier and West Seattle as you head towards the south end.

History

The Magnolia neighborhood and park were misnamed by a Navy geographer who wrongly identified the area’s madrona trees as magnolias. The city bought the park in 1910.
